SOD-001  Shop Safety  - (0 Credits)  
This course covers safety, logistics, and operation of both stationary and portable power tools available in the industrial design wood shop. The course leads to shop certification, and upon its successful completion, enables the students to use the industrial design wood shop facilities responsibly during their matriculated stay at Pratt. There is a fee associated with this course.
SOD-300  UX/UI Core-Theory,Research and Practice  - (3 Credits)  
This course provides a theoretical and practical introduction to UX/UI. Through a series of interactive bootcamps, lectures, and studio visits, students are exposed to interaction design methods and strategies, including persona and scenario development, wireframes, sense-making, customer journeys, usability testing, and heuristics. Additional lectures will explore the influence of UX/UI on society, culture, politics, and the economy.
SOD-401  Interplay: Ethics and Tactics of Co-Design  - (3 Credits)  
A hub for cross-fertilization between creative practices, this course presents the basic principles of co-design as they relate to working across disciplines and with communities. Positioning co-design through the framework of play, this course invites students from across the School of Design to explore how to co-create knowledge, how to share leadership, how to design with empathy, and how to work outside disciplinary norms.
SOD-499  Independent Study  - (1 Credit)  
In this undergraduate course, work is assigned on an individual basis under advisement by a faculty member, and in consultation with the department's chairperson. This course provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to pursue a project that goes beyond the existing curriculum or facilities.
